We welcome orders for delivery outside the UK. This page explains what you need to check before ordering internationally, and how customs, delivery, and returns work for overseas orders.
This page forms part of our
Terms and Conditions and should be read alongside our
Delivery and Returns Policy and
Privacy Policy, all available on the Site.
1. Your Responsibility When Ordering Internationally
Knife import laws vary considerably from country to country. Some countries require an import licence or permit, some restrict certain blade lengths or knife types, and a small number prohibit the import of knives altogether. Before placing an order for delivery outside the UK, it is your responsibility to:
- check whether the specific item you want to buy can lawfully be imported into your country;
- obtain any import licence, permit, or other documentation required before you order, not after;
- check whether there are restrictions on the blade type, length, or locking mechanism of the item you’re ordering; and
- understand any local rules on carrying or owning a knife once it arrives, which may be stricter than the rules on importing one.
If you are unsure, we recommend checking with your national customs authority, or seeking independent legal advice, before you order. We are a UK retailer and cannot advise on the law of another country.
We are not able to offer a refund where an order is delayed, refused, or seized because of import restrictions, missing documentation, or local knife laws in the destination country – see Clause 7.
2. Customs, Duties, and Taxes
Orders shipped outside the UK may be inspected by customs on arrival and may attract charges from the destination country’s authorities. In particular:
- Customs duties, import taxes, and any handling fees charged by the destination country are your responsibility and are not included in our product price or delivery charge.
- Your courier will usually contact you directly to collect any duties owed before releasing your parcel.
- Customs clearance timeframes vary and can add several days to the delivery estimates in Clause 6.
- We declare the true contents and value of every international shipment on customs paperwork. We are not able to mark an order as a gift, or understate its value, to reduce or avoid customs charges – please don’t ask us to.
- If a parcel is seized, refused, or destroyed by customs because of an import restriction, we are unable to offer a refund or replacement – see Clause 7.
3. Age-Verified Delivery Applies Internationally Too
The age-verification requirements set out in our Terms and Conditions apply to international orders in the same way as UK orders: you must be 18 or over to order a Bladed Product, and – where our courier’s service supports it – a person aged 18 or over must be available to accept delivery and provide proof of age.
4. Country and Regional Guidance
The table below gives a general, non-exhaustive overview of points to be aware of for a small number of regions. It is not a substitute for checking the specific rules that apply to you, and it does not cover every country we may ship to.
| Region |
General Points to Check |
| United States |
Import value thresholds, tariffs, and prohibited categories (such as automatic-opening knives) apply at federal level, and individual states may impose additional restrictions. |
| European Union |
Most member states permit import of traditional fixed-blade and folding knives for lawful purposes, but rules on blade length, locking mechanisms, and public carry vary by country. Automatic and disguised knives are restricted in most member states. |
| Canada |
Automatic knives, gravity knives, and certain other categories are generally prohibited on import; traditional fixed and folding blades are generally permitted. Provincial rules on public carry may add further restriction. |
| Australia |
Import of weapons, including certain knife types, generally requires authorisation from the Australian Border Force. We recommend checking with the Australian Border Force before ordering. |
| New Zealand |
Most traditional knives may be imported for lawful use; automatic-opening knives are generally restricted. |
| Other regions |
Rules vary widely and change frequently. Please contact us before ordering if you don’t see your country listed, or if you are unsure whether we can ship a particular item to you. |
This table is provided as general guidance only, is not legal advice, and may become out of date. Always check current requirements with your own country’s customs authority before ordering.
5. Countries We Are Unable to Ship To
- Russian Federation
- Belarus
- The Islamic Republic of Iran
- Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
If your country is not listed above and you are unsure whether we can deliver to you, please contact us before placing your order and we’ll be happy to check.
6. International Delivery
6.1 Delivery Times
International delivery times vary by destination and depend on customs clearance in the receiving country, which is outside our control. The table below gives estimated timeframes after dispatch.
| Region |
Estimated Delivery After Dispatch |
| Europe |
5–10 working days, subject to customs |
| North America |
7–14 working days, subject to customs |
| Australia and New Zealand |
10–21 working days, subject to customs |
| Rest of world |
10–28 working days, subject to customs |
These are estimates only, are not guaranteed, and do not account for customs delays outside our control.
6.2 Tracking and Packaging
International orders are sent using a tracked courier service. Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive a dispatch notification with tracking details. All international orders are securely packaged to protect the contents in transit and to meet courier requirements for shipping bladed articles, in the same way as described in our Terms and Conditions and Delivery and Returns Policy.
7. International Returns
The general returns process set out in our Delivery and Returns Policy applies to international orders, with the following additional points:
- You are responsible for return postage and any customs charges arising from an international return.
- Returns must be sent using a tracked and insured service – we cannot be held responsible for an international return lost in transit.
- Import duties or taxes you paid on the original order are not refunded by us; you may be able to reclaim these directly from your own country’s customs authority.
- If a return parcel is refused or seized by customs, we are unable to offer a refund.
Please contact us before sending an international return, in the same way described in our
Delivery and Returns Policy, so we can issue a returns reference number and confirm the correct return address and method.
8. Contact Us About International Orders
